bounced back to best, relishing the return to the mud (heavy ground Group 3 winner here as a 3-y-o), the longer trip clearly holding no fears, admittedly in quite a muddling race (not strong form); waited with, headway 2f out, led inside final 1f, edged right briefly, kept up to work.

strong in the betting, backed up his Sandown effort upped in class, the way he travelled suggesting he may be capable of rating higher still in due course; in touch, travelled well, every chance entering final 1f, kept on.

back down in trip, probably ran her best race to date, possibly not best served by sticking to the inside either, the first 2 in particular much more down the middle of the track; soon steadied, took keen hold, effort on inner 2f out, kept on.

wasn't disgraced by any means, particularly as a postion more towards the inside than most might not have been absolutely ideal, but again he didn't fully convince as a 1¼m horse; in touch, challenged under 2f out, not quicken inside final 1f (short of room briefly late on).

upped in both grade and trip, was easy to back amid concerns over the ground, and that's one of the reasons why he can have this run overlooked, the route taken in the straight seemingly of no use either; pressed leader, not settle fully, came wide over 2f out, left behind soon after; remains capable of better, particularly back on all-weather (and probably over 1m).

Very few of these arrived on the up, and with a steady gallop and runners spread out in the straight adding to a muddling feel, this is unlikely to prove strong form for the grade.
