was well-in under a penalty for York success 6 days ago and made no mistake, completing the hat-trick in straightforward fashion and underlining his effectiveness at 1m in the process; chased leader, travelled smoothly, shaken up 2f out, got gap soon after, led around 1f out, kept on well; he's already due to be off 95 when new marks kicks in, and could be raised further after this success, but is in such a rich vein of form that he'll remain of interest.

making belated debut in this sphere and ran a cracker, beaten only by a handicap blot who enjoyed a smoother run through, this different scenario unlocking some improvement in Urban Icon; waited with, travelled well, had to wait for gap 2f out then forced to weave through final 1f, finished well and never nearer for mainly hands-and-heels ride, conceded first run; looks worth persevering with in these top-end handicaps, his strong-travelling style tailor-made for them.

was perked up by the fitting of first-time blinkers, getting back to something like his best, forced wider than ideal from his draw but getting a clear shot at things in the straight as a result; mid-division, good headway over 2f out, edged ahead over 1f out, headed around 1f out, kept on; down to the same mark as for his 2019 Hunt Cup success so can't be written off in similar events, for all that he's a bit in and out.

is well suited to the demands of this track and, back up in trip after just 6 days off, quickly took a step back in the right direction; soon led from good draw, took keen hold, headed over 1f out, beaten when hampered final 100 yds; is a likeable, straightforward type, but looks handicapped to the hilt and his best chance of success in the short term will probably come in minor/listed events.

A slightly smaller field than usual for this top-end handicap, and no 3-y-os in the line-up, either, but it was won by an upwardly-mobile 4-y-o who was well-in after a recent success, whilst the runner-up took well to this different environment and further substance is provided by both the third and the timefigure.
