shook up Poule Des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas) runner-up final start of progressive 2-y-o campaign and made a really smooth return to action after 7 months off, acknowledging this run is more about style the substance; mid-field, cruised into contention over 2f out and led on bridle soon after, not hard pressed to quickly settle matters; may do better still at 1½m given stamina-laden pedigree and looks a smart filly in the making, but whilst she's worth her place in a higher grade, quotes of 10/1 for the Oaks look something of an overreaction.
mid-division, headway on bit over 2f out, led soon after, easily

after 7 months off, showed she wasn't flattered by her down-the-field effort in a French Group 3 last year after all; held up, headway over 2f out, stuck to task but no match for the winner, that one a class apart; proved well suited by this longer trip and may stay further still, but will need to be well placed to win a similar event.

an excuse came to light for her Newmarket flop (reportedly heavily in season) and she wasn't seen to best effect here, taking time to settle in mid-field at this longer trip and then caught in a pocket as the winner kicked on 2f out, but she was hardly making rapid inroads on the runner-up once in the clear and may just not be as good as her first 2 runs suggested.
mid-field, had to wait for gap 2f out, kept on final 1f

duly stepped up on her Cheshire Oaks run, things going far more smoothly this time, but this rather limits her potential as a result; dictated, took keen hold, headed 2f out, no extra; may need her sights lowering if she's to regain the winning thread.

aimed high again after Lingfield, went some way to showing that effort flatters her; held up, kept on down outer from 2f out, never landed a blow; could prove hard to place in the short term, not up to this level and on a stiff-looking BHA mark of 97.

progressed race-by-race at 2 yrs, and though that came at a much lower level she remains with potential after this reappearance, albeit probably back in calmer waters, seemingly in need of the outing after 9 months off, probably also stretched by this trip (not really bred to stay much further than 1m); handy, travelled well, effort 2f out, weakened soon after, not persevered with.

was well held in first-time hood, flying too high in this grade; close up, driven 3f out, weakened; standout effort came on heavy ground, her profile aside from that not particularly appealing.

A fillies' listed event lacking depth, the standard-setter failing to live up to expectations and the exposed runner-up putting a cap on the form; that said, Lady of Dubai was impressive and looks worth her place in a higher grade; the gallop was fair.
