proved at least as good as ever as he completed the hat-trick returned to graded company, confirming form with the pair he'd beaten at Windsor to some tune and gamely seeing off an improver; waited with, not fluent sixth, crept closer 3 out, pushed along next, challenged final 100 yds, edged ahead close home; tactically versatile and a credit to connections, though he will find it tougher in the Grade 1 events that await him in the coming weeks.

back up in trip after 10 weeks off, went agonisingly close to providing connections with a second valuable prize in as many days as he resumed his progress straight away upped in grade, albeit having got first run; disputed lead, went on circuit out, pressed on entering straight, still around 2 lengths ahead last, tackled final 100 yds, edged out near finish.

appeared to have plenty in his favour, including the return to more testing conditions and being better off at the weights with Nemean Lion than at Windsor, but he didn't see it out and was beaten much further by that rival; disputed lead until circuit out, remained prominent, untidy 3 out, driven before next, no extra run-in.

turned in a rare poor effort, worth noting that he's been mainly kept away from extreme conditions since moving to Britain; in touch, off pace sixth, labouring badly home turn.

The first flight in back straight was omitted on the final circuit due to damage.

An up-to-scratch running of the track's feature event, 3 having met the previous month and the admirable Nemean Lion just edging it from a progressive one that was stepping out of handicap company.
