improved as he got off the mark in this sphere, the longer trip right up his street; in touch, ridden when not fluent 4 out and 3 out, jumped on last, stayed on well; he'll stay long distances judged on this and should continue to give a good account, with more progress probably in the pipeline.

up 15 lb for his Chepstow romp, proved himself competitive from his new mark and shaped well, arguably outstayed late on having gone through the race with bundles of zest; soon led, jumped soundly, travelled well, effort between last 2, headed run-in, no extra; it's doubtful he's finished winning handicaps just yet, with a return to 3m likely to help.

back down to last winning mark, wasn't disgraced after 12 months off, but he's none too consistent and it'll be a weak handicap that he wins; pressed leader, not fluent 5 out, left behind after next, plodded on.

owner ridden as usual, shaped as if retaining ability after 8 months off, back in handicap company on what's probably just an average mark, having spent the last 2 seasons in hunters; in touch, not always fluent, lost place sixth, in touch again 4 out, untidy there, left behind before 3 out.

was below form; in touch, not always fluent, reminders early final circuit, left behind before 3 out, weakened approaching last; he doesn't convince attitude-wise.

Not the most likeable bunch overall but the first 2 are novices on the up and, so far as they're concerned, this is form view positively; the runner-up set a fair pace.

GET ON THE YAGER improved as he got off the mark in this sphere, the longer trip right up his street; in touch, ridden when not fluent 4 out and 3 out, jumped on last, stayed on well; he'll stay long distances judged on this and should continue to give a good account, with more progress probably in the pipeline.
