defied a penalty as he bagged another Grade 2 but almost certainly didn't need to better his Sandown form with most of the opposition falling by the wayside; pressed leader, jumped big at third, went on after 5 out, asserted approaching next, untidy there, ridden out; he's likeable and versatile with regards trip, though whether he's up to beating Grade 1 horses at level weights at the spring festivals is a different matter entirely.

ran about as well as could have been expected upped in grade in a first-time tongue strap, especially as he forfeited a lot of ground when stopped in his tracks in the back straight; held up, badly hampered seventh, headway approaching 4 out, went second there, pushed along after next, no impression on winner; there are surely races to be won him over fences at the right level.

found it much, much harder dominating these and paid the price, this rather highlighting she's likely to be better off back against her own sex; made running, headed after 5 out, tied up approaching straight, tailed off when fell 3 out.

had jumped well when winning at Chepstow but has been rather been let down by it on his other outings over fences; chased leaders, not fluent sixth, fell next.

was in the process of running well below his chasing debut form when his race ended, the appreciably shorter trip probably not in his favour, though he took such a cruncher that even back over further a watching brief could be the way to go with him next time; waited with, shaken up entering straight, left behind by winner approaching 4 out, third and held when fell heavily next.

again failed to complete, though it wasn't his fault this time; in touch, went prominent before sixth, ridden entering straight, hung left, left behind by winner approaching 4 out, beaten fourth when hampered and unseated next; it'd make sense to try and find him something a lot easier after such an intensive start to his chasing career.

The fences took their toll in this Grade 2 rerouted from Wetherby, though Handstands was already in control when his chief market rivals exited and it's unlikely he needed to better his Sandown form in defying a penalty for that, Grade 1 company apparently next on the agenda but still with plenty to do before he can be expected to win at that level.
