was strong in the betting in a first-time tongue strap and proved a different proposition to gain a first handicap success by a wide margin; in touch, took strong hold, went handy after 4 out, led between 3 out and 2 out and stayed on strongly, admittedly to pull well clear from a tiring runner-up; there's no knocking how he went about it, but the handicapper won't miss it and he'll surely be in much deeper next time.

ran respectably in first-time visor after just 2 days off and the fact he was out again so quickly is probably the reason he got tired; led, headed between 3 out and 2 out, left behind by winner quickly.

A small-field affair with no depth to it and, although the unexposed winner was quite impressive, it's best to rate his wide-margin win with some caution.

POTTERS STORY was strong in the betting in a first-time tongue strap and proved a different proposition to gain a first handicap success by a wide margin; in touch, took strong hold, went handy after 4 out, led between 3 out and 2 out and stayed on strongly, admittedly to pull well clear from a tiring runner-up; there's no knocking how he went about it, but the handicapper won't miss it and he'll surely be in much deeper next time.

RAYVIN BLACK ran respectably in first-time visor after just 2 days off and the fact he was out again so quickly is probably the reason he got tired; led, headed between 3 out and 2 out, left behind by winner quickly.

TORNADO IN MILAN (IRE) is handicapped to the hilt and has also gained his last 3 hurdles wins over further than this, shaping as if going back up in trip would be ideal; not always fluent and struggled with pace, stayed on after 3 out without threatening.

MR FITZROY (IRE) should strip fitter for the run after 7 months off; prominent, weakened approaching 3 out.

SOLSTICE STAR ran poorly back over hurdles; prominent, ridden after 4 out, beaten next, weakened.

CAPITOUL (FR) was easy to back and well held in first-time hood on more testing ground; struggling halfway, always behind.
