had it easier dropped in grade from the Melrose but still proved a revelation, vastly improved faced with testing ground for the first time and returned to 2m, all stamina; made all, kicked on 4f out, clear when hung left 1f out, stayed on strongly; even with a penalty he's unlikely to get into the Cesarewitch, but he'll relish that 2¼m - and look a standout at the weights - if given his chance in the trial for that major prize there next weekend.

probably remains in form but runner-up finishes on the Flat seldom come so remote; handy, ridden when carried head bit awkwardly 4f out, left behind by winner quickly, no response.

lost his surprising unbeaten record on the Flat after 6 weeks off, well accustomed to such conditions but, in a hark back to his hurdling days, just not in the mood; held up, raced lazily, driven before home turn, looked none too keen, merely passed 2 beaten horses, one of them only at the death.

A Ffos Las Flat handicap with distances more akin to a staying novice chase at the track in the height of winter, the all-the-way winner relishing the test and routing them for all nothing else giving its running, most of the others flat out 4f from home.

LOOK MY WAY had it easier dropped in grade from the Melrose but still proved a revelation, vastly improved faced with testing ground for the first time and returned to 2m, all stamina; made all, kicked on 4f out, clear when hung left 1f out, stayed on strongly; even with a penalty he's unlikely to get into the Cesarewitch, but he'll relish that 2¼m - and look a standout at the weights - if given his chance in the trial for that major prize there next weekend.

CHAMPAGNE CHAMP probably remains in form but runner-up finishes on the Flat seldom come so remote; handy, ridden when carried head bit awkwardly 4f out, left behind by winner quickly, no response.

DESERT GOD (IND) on softer ground than previously, seemed unsuited by conditions; tracked pace, left behind by winner over 3f out, shaken up soon after, no response.
