whose jockey put up 1 lb overweight, is on a roll, confidently ridden to follow up his Sandown victory 10 days earlier; raced wide, patiently ridden, smooth headway from 4 out, went second next, loomed up 2 out, went on before last, asserted flat, comfortably; looks up to completing the hat-trick in his current mood with better still to come, not least given he'll remain eligable for lower-grade events than this.

improved again making his handicap debut after 8 months off, still just scratching the surface with him, only finding a race-fit and in-form rival too good this time; chased leaders, pushed along home turn, outpaced between 3 out and 2 out, headway approaching last, edged left, kept on well, no match for winner; will benefit from a return to at least 2½m and likely to progress further, one to be interested in next time.
