who was forced to miss her intended engagement at Cheltenham after meeting with a late set-back, proved herself to be a decidedly useful novice with an impressive display, despite the track, much more tractable in a first-time hood and seeing out the 2f longer trip really well; mid-division, loomed up early in straight, jumped left last 2, went on approaching last, hung left run-in, forged clear, did better under a change of tactics; an exciting prospect who is unlucky not to be unbeaten over hurdles, she remains likely to prove best going the other way around and will take plenty of beating in mares events next season.

showed much improved form under an aggressive ride back up in trip; tracked pace, jumped on fourth, well clear halfway (about 15 lengths ahead 5 out), headed when blundered 2 out, kept on again run-in; likely to stay 3m, she looks a fine prospect for staying novice chases.

resumed progress ridden very differently to last time, if anything set a bit too much to do trying this trip for the first time; waited with, crept closer 3 out, ridden 2 out, stayed on, never nearer; still a work in progress, she is sure to progress further and win more races.

With 7 of the first 10 home from the Dawn Run in the field, as well as the one who'd likely have been sent off favourite for that race had she not been scratched at the eleventh hour, this looked a very deep race on paper, and it didn't disappoint, Brandy Love picking up well off a searching gallop to lower the colours of the hitherto unbeaten favourite.

BRANDY LOVE (IRE) who was forced to miss her intended engagement at Cheltenham after meeting with a late set-back, proved herself to be a decidedly useful novice with an impressive display, despite the track, much more tractable in a first-time hood and seeing out the 2f longer trip really well; mid-division, loomed up early in straight, jumped left last 2, went on approaching last, hung left run-in, forged clear, did better under a change of tactics; an exciting prospect who is unlucky not to be unbeaten over hurdles, she remains likely to prove best going the other way around and will take plenty of beating in mares events next season.
