showed much improved form under a change of tactics to spring a mild surprise; held up, headway early in straight, got gap over 1f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f; a penalty for this success is likely to make life more difficult for her but this is very much a case of job done.

under a penalty for his Curragh win, showed there was no fluke about that performance and would have gone closer still had he proved a bit more tractable; close up, pulled way to front before halfway, hung badly left straight, headed well inside final 1f, kept on, pulled clear of remainder; will continue to good account.

up in grade, shaped better than the distance beaten suggests; bumped start, held up, raced freely, headway early in straight, close up third 1f out, weakened final 100 yds; looks all speed at this stage and is sure to win races back at the minimum trip.

Not a strong race for the grade, a point underlined by the fact that the favourite hadn't broken her duck until the seventh attempt, and it was a rather messy one to boot, New Treasure hanging off the inside rail in the straight and leaving a clear passage for one who had sat well off a strong early pace.

LADY PRINCESS (IRE) showed much improved form under a change of tactics to spring a mild surprise; held up, headway early in straight, got gap over 1f out, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f; a penalty for this success is likely to make life more difficult for her but this is very much a case of job done.
