is a mare well out of the ordinary, certainly one of the best non-Mullins trained prospect of her sex seen in recent times, perhaps at some advantage over some coming here fresh (had been off 13 weeks) but clearly the best in the division regardless, her unblemished record now standing at 4-4, with no rival she's faced so far able to get within 3 lengths of her; never far away, she was going strongly when landing in front 3 out and quickened right away from her closest pursuers after the next, clear crossing the last and extending her advantage over Tintangle by another couple of lengths or so without maximum pressure, most impressive; she's got even more to reveal, too, some thought ahead of next season, when she'll hopefully steer a course outside the cocoon of mares company.

made it a 1-2 for her owner with a decidedly useful effort in her own right behind a potentially exceptional mare, doing especially well under the circumstances considering her position further back than the others who filled the frame, shaping as though she's sure to stay - and possibly improve further for - longer distances, much as she had when behind a few of these in the Dawn Run; held up, off pace still home turn, kept on well from 2 out, took second run-in and even closing on winner at line.

had to settle for minor honours in this graded mares novice but did little to dent her growing reputation 6 weeks on from the Dawn Run, a late mistake hindering her for all she'd have struggled to cope with the front pair regardless; mid-division, progress fifth, shaken up before straight, flattened 2 out, stayed on, took third on line, the longer trip clearly within range.

confirmed the improvement she'd shown in the Dawn Run, looking even better than that for much of the way as the only one to lay down a threat to Honeysuckle, that effort rather than the longer trip (long since promised to be suited by 2½m) likely to blame, either way shaping well; tracked pace, pressed leader from 3 out, every chance when ridden from next, clear second last, no extra final 100 yds, lost third on line.

shaped even better than in the Dawn Run 6 weeks on, not seen to best effect yet still reproducing the step forward she'd made there; patiently ridden, travelled fluently, still plenty to do home turn, late headway, finished with running left, nearest at the finish, caught further back than ideal.

seemed to excel herself, a performance best taken at face value for now, no obvious reason from the way the race developed to call her flattered; held up, brief progress out wide end of back straight, lost ground before 2 out but rallied well late on, passing a couple more on the run-in; she's already shown she stays 3m but has raced only at shorter since.

Half the field from the Dawn Run - the winner, third and fourh among them - took their chance but even the one from that race who did best here, sixth-home Elfile, was powerless to resist an unbeaten mare who missed Cheltenham yet was able to conclusively prove herself the leading novice of her sex on the scene, taking a prize of even higher status than its equivalent at the Festival; the pace was true, despite the bunched finish behind the runaway winner.

HONEYSUCKLE is a mare well out of the ordinary, certainly one of the best non-Mullins trained prospect of her sex seen in recent times, perhaps at some advantage over some coming here fresh (had been off 13 weeks) but clearly the best in the division regardless, her unblemished record now standing at 4-4, with no rival she's faced so far able to get within 3 lengths of her; never far away, she was going strongly when landing in front 3 out and quickened right away from her closest pursuers after the next, clear crossing the last and extending her advantage over Tintangle by another couple of lengths or so without maximum pressure, most impressive; she's got even more to reveal, too, some thought ahead of next season, when she'll hopefully steer a course outside the cocoon of mares company.
