Further proof of ground more testing than advertised as only 3 completed and one of those was wobbling late after putting up most fight to the winner.

WELL DICK (IRE) is the epitome of all or nothing, following the pattern of a pair of pulled-up efforts with a win for the second time within a year, showing what he can do granted a thorough stamina test but still not sure to have turned over a new leaf for a yard he'd joined only prior to his return; he disputed the lead or chased the leader, took over for good at the twelfth and asserted from 2 out following another assured leap.

ILLICO DE COTTE (FR) cemented a sound start to his chasing career for a yard with few peers with such types, running better than he had the twice he'd worn cheekpieces over hurdles; waited with, took closer order back straight, ridden from 4 out, not quicken, rallied gradually late on, took second final 50 yds; this was the first time he'd encountered ground so testing.

NEO KING (FR) shaped much better than he had been doing over hurdles since joining the stable and is one to note for a handicap in a lower grade, provided he's given time to get over what proved a hard race faced with a test that seemed to stretch him; waited with, jumped well in main, good progress before 5 out, pressed leader from end of back straight, tied up last, lost second final 50 yds.

PACHACUTI (IRE) ran too badly to be true, shaping as if amiss for all nothing came to light; off pace out wide, reminders early final circuit, lost touch quickly, pulled up twelfth.

IMPERIAL ALEX (IRE) has returned from a break out of sorts, even weaker in the market with a run behind him; soon steadied, reminders eleventh, no response, tailed off 5 out.

BROOMFIELD PRESENT (IRE) avoided jumping mishap this time but still had nothing to show for it; close up, driven 5 out, still in breakaway quartet but under firm pressure when stumbled and lost ground home turn, left behind from there and got tired.

LIVIN ON LUCO (IRE) has a temperamental side and, whether linked or not, has gone the wrong way from his successful start over fences; waited with, in touch when not fluent thirteenth, ridden when lost ground quickly next, pulled up before 4 out.

FEIVEL (IRE) looked a hard ride back chasing, such an errant performance hard to foresee given he'd won twice over hurdles here and has shown his form this way round in this sphere, too; jumped and hung left from start, made most until twelfth, soon beaten.
