completed a simple task under a penalty; patiently ridden, travelled powerfully, went prominent 4 out, led straight, drew clear last, had plenty in hand; he's due a big hike in the weights but will hold his own in much better handicaps than this, with more improvement to come and the longer trips he's bred for still to try.

wasn't disgraced in first-time tongue strap after 8 months off and will maybe strip fitter for the run, not that he's obviously of much interest from his mark; patiently ridden, went prominent third, effort straight, one paced.

A weakly-contesed handicap that was a cakewalk for the odds-on favourite against 2 averagely treated rivals and a no-hoper; the pace was steady in foggy conditions.

FOR GOOD MEASURE (IRE) completed a simple task under a penalty; patiently ridden, travelled powerfully, went prominent 4 out, led straight, drew clear last, had plenty in hand; he's due a big hike in the weights but will hold his own in much better handicaps than this, with more improvement to come and the longer trips he's bred for still to try.

BENBECULA ran creditably, handicapped to the hilt; led until straight, kept on, no match for winner.

JUMPS ROAD wasn't disgraced in first-time tongue strap after 8 months off and will maybe strip fitter for the run, not that he's obviously of much interest from his mark; patiently ridden, went prominent third, effort straight, one paced.

EXILES RETURN (IRE) in touch until 4 out, soon beaten.
