dropped in the weights after ending last season in a lull and returned to form with headgear/tongue strap left off on first outing for 7 months/since leaving Nigel Twiston-Davies, definitely interesting from this mark if new yard can keep him sweet; mid-division, travelled fluently, not fluent fourth, fifth, headway before eleventh, challenged 4 out, kept on.

showed he retains plenty of ability back from 7 months off and returns on a career-low mark that'll help him avoid useful/progressive rivals, handicapped to snap a remarkably long losing run for a horse of his ability provided he's placed well; mid-division, headway before eleventh, pushed along 4 out, kept on.

has gone well fresh in the past and was strong in betting from a potentially lenient mark but shaped as if better for run after 19 months off, going with some encouragement for all his history of fragility/tame finishes suggest a need for some caution; pressed leader, upsides 5 out, shaken up next, weakened 2 out, not unduly punished.

The winner improved and the next 2 home are potentially well treated, so there's a case for a fairly positive view of this useful handicap; the pace didn't pick up until after halfway, meaning it wasn't an especially severe test.
