back over hurdles, is thriving on racing and produced his best effort to date to register a major upset after just 6 days off, clearly suited by the relative emphasis on speed, though perhaps more pertinently catching the red-hot favourite on an 'off day'; chased leader, challenged before 2 out, stayed on to lead last, ridden out; clearly a useful performer when things go his way, he neverthless may prove difficult to place on the back of this victory.

had established herself as the leading performer of her generation in a season that culminated in 2 Grade 1 victories, but was well below her best on her first outing since leaving W. P. Mullins after 6 months off (had beaten the winner comfortably on their only previous meeting); led, ridden from 3 out, tackled approaching 2 out, headed last, one paced; connections reported afterwards that she is now likely to step up in trip, which would seemingly put paid to any Champion Hurdle aspirations, though it would be folly to write her off on the back of this performance, the giant strides she made in a short amount of time last term still very much fresh in the memory.

shaped better than the result suggests on first outing since leaving W. P. Mullins after 6 months off, leaving impression he should have finished closer still; soon steadied, travelled best, short of room entering straight, switched between last 2 (conceded first run), untidy last, kept on, finished with running left; a smart novice last term (runner-up in Grade 1's on final 2 starts), this was an encouraging start for his new yard and he looks sure to win more races if kept to this sphere, while he remains an exciting prospect for chasing.

A muddling renewal of this Grade 2 and form best treated with a fair amount of caution, the useful Rashaan running out a surprise winner with last season’s leading juvenile Apple’s Jade failing to perform anywhere near her best on her return.

RASHAAN (IRE) back over hurdles, is thriving on racing and produced his best effort to date to register a major upset after just 6 days off, clearly suited by the relative emphasis on speed, though perhaps more pertinently catching the red-hot favourite on an 'off day'; chased leader, challenged before 2 out, stayed on to lead last, ridden out; clearly a useful performer when things go his way, he neverthless may prove difficult to place on the back of this victory.
