bounced back quickly from his Nunthorpe no-show, everything going ideally to enable him to show to best advantage, nothing getting in a blow after he took 3 lengths out of the field at the start; broke well, made all, went with zest, shaken up over 1f out, kept on, unchallenged; he's not in the Abbaye and has the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint as his target, running round a bend an unknown, but his speed and level of ability both giving him leading claims.

wasted no time getting back to form, even if there was an element of picking up the pieces for second to her performance; held up, travelled well, headway over 1f out, took second final 1f, kept on well, made little impression.

after 11 weeks off, up in grade, was much improved from debut, though, like the runner-up, the run of the race enabled him to come through relatively late for a place; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, shaken up halfway, headway over 1f out, stayed on, never a threat.

was again below form, possibly not suited by the drop back to 5f after 9 weeks off and on softer ground than previously as well; in touch, outpaced halfway, plugged on final 1f.

sent off joint-favourite with Big Evs in the Molecomb and his main market rival here, hasn't gone on quite as expected since his listed win at Sandown, this a rather flat display; held up, ridden over 2f out, not quicken final 1f, never landed a blow.

Four withdrawals due to the ground, including of the Norfolk and Roses Stakes winners, weakened this as a contest, though it is hard to imagine they would have found the improvement to land a blow at Big Evs, who bounced back from his Nunthorpe blow-out to produce one of the very best performances in the Flying Childers this century, matched only by Soldier's Call in the last decade, another York flop chasing him home, those that gave closest chase paying for that in the latter stages.
