held his form well in better company than this in 2018 and made the most of a good opportunity to get back to winning ways after 4 months off; mid-field, headway under pressure from 2f out, challenged over 1f out, rallied to lead approaching last ½f.

back on turf, seemingly improved after 4 months off, though this isn't solid form; mid-field, shaken up 3f out, switched 2f out, kept on well, took second close home.

upped in trip, didn't have the chance the market suggested (form of win here last season nothing special) and was unable to land short odds, despite nudging his rating up after 6 months off, though he left the impression that the run may well have been needed; prominent, went with zest, loomed up 2f out, challenged over 1f out, one paced; he was well positioned, but it is still early days with him and it is to be hoped that he can get a clearer run at it this year.

without the headgear this time, shaped as if retaining ability on first outing since leaving Saeed Bin Suroor after 20 months off and is obviously entitled to be sharper for this; mid-field, challenged briefly 2f out, weakened, not persevered with once held.

An up-to-scratch renewal of this conditions race and a worthy winner in the form of Red Verdon, but it's not a solid piece of form, a steady gallop leading to a bunched finish which involved the rank outsider.

RED VERDON (USA) held his form well in better company than this in 2018 and made the most of a good opportunity to get back to winning ways after 4 months off; mid-field, headway under pressure from 2f out, challenged over 1f out, rallied to lead approaching last ½f.

CROWNED EAGLE got back on track but had the run of the race out in front and a fitness edge over the rest; dictated, shaken up over 2f out, tackled over 1f out, headed approaching last ½f, lost place close home.
