gained a belated first win on turf, a first listed win too, and he seemed at least as good as ever for it, albeit well ridden/suited by the strong pace; held up, pushed along halfway, headway when switched over 1f out, ensuring a clear run and no loss of momentum, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, driven out; he boasts a good strike rate (7 wins from 24 starts).

has taken off all of a sudden, a surprise winner of a maiden 8 days ago but here taking her form to a completely different level again, excelling herself up markedly in class and on softer ground than she'd encountered before, trying 5f for the first time too; slowly into stride, headway under pressure halfway, led over 1f out, headed well inside final 1f, one paced; there are plenty of options for a useful sprinting filly like her.

on softer ground than previously, handled conditions and bounced back to form after failing to beat a rival on her previous 2 starts this season; chased leaders, pushed along halfway, led briefly over 1f out, no extra last ½f.

had plenty in his favour, ridden more patiently than usual which should also have suited given how the race developed, but he was rather flat and underperformed, making headway over 1f out but a bit laboured to do so and then one paced; it's inevitable that one kept as busy as he is won't be 100% every time.

Just 6 runners for this listed sprint, not looking the strongest renewal of the race beforehand, and with the likes of Final Venture and Thesme underperforming that was even more the case; Thesme went tearing off into the headwind and it set up well for those from off the pace.

ENCORE D'OR gained a belated first win on turf, a first listed win too, and he seemed at least as good as ever for it, albeit well ridden/suited by the strong pace; held up, pushed along halfway, headway when switched over 1f out, ensuring a clear run and no loss of momentum, stayed on to lead well inside final 1f, driven out; he boasts a good strike rate (7 wins from 24 starts).
