had optimum conditions at a track where he'd won before (over hurdles) and proved better than ever to defy a career-high mark, seen to maximum effect on the day however and set to be vulnerable from even higher in the weights; prominent, travelled smoothly, led tenth, quickened after 4 out, ridden 2 out, ran on, well positioned.

won a weakish race that's not worked out at Kempton 4 weeks ago but clearly continues in good heart and ran well from 6 lb higher; chased leaders, close up 4 out, pushed along before next, kept on; he was better placed than most and not disadvantaged by the relative emphasis on speed.

still looks on a handy enough mark and ran creditably without seeming ideally suited by the way the race developed; chased leaders, not always fluent, outpaced between 4 out and 3 out, stayed on, would have benefited from a stronger gallop; remains open to improvement as a chaser.

wasn't disgraced after 7 months off, not seen to best effect the way the race was run, and it's more than likely a run that'll sharpen him up for bigger targets; in rear, driven 5 out, kept on, never a threat, needs emphasis more on stamina; the headgear will probably be back on next time (ran without usual blinkers) and he'll benefit from a return to around 3m as well.

looks high enough in the weights after an 8 lb rise for Wetherby but wasn't in same form as last time, anyway; held up, headway tenth, chased leaders 4 out, not fluent there, held 2 out, no extra.

was the least exposed of these but failed to meet expectations back over fences, albeit not seen to best effect in what was a rather muddling race; mid-division, went prominent 5 out, outpaced after next, soon done with but not knocked about; worth another chance.

after just 7 days off, wasn't on a going day even if a more truly-run race is probably ideal; raced off the pace, off the bridle before most, behind when hit 4 out, made no impression.

This is neither strong nor solid form as it wasn't a truly-run race, the field still well bunched going to 4 out, and a prominent position was definitely an advantage, whilst it's no surprise that the first 2 are both fully effective at shorter trips given that the emphasis was more on speed.

ROBBIE had optimum conditions at a track where he'd won before (over hurdles) and proved better than ever to defy a career-high mark, seen to maximum effect on the day however and set to be vulnerable from even higher in the weights; prominent, travelled smoothly, led tenth, quickened after 4 out, ridden 2 out, ran on, well positioned.
