was a big improver in the early part of the season, creating a big impression at both Thirsk and Hamilton, and she resumed her progress in emphatic fashion after 4 months off, gaining her first listed win, bigger prizes to come on this evidence; always prominent, tanked along, quickened to lead over 1f out, soon drew clear, impressive; the 5f Group 3 at Newbury a week on Saturday is likely to be where she goes next (though she wouldn't be out of place in the Abbaye) and and she promises to follow up if in this form.

has still to really progress from his 2-y-o days, his last win having come in the Middle Park, beaten on merit by a progressive filly here, but it's a run that underlines that he retains all of his ability and he's a consistent, uncomplicated sort who'll continue to hold his own; chased leaders, driven entering final 1f, kept on, no impression on winner; he did well from a high draw in the Abbaye last year and that race will probably be the target again.

wasted no time getting back to form back at a more conventional track than Goodwood, close to her best, needing no excuses; pressed leader, ridden 2f out, stuck to task, had every chance; she's up to winning a fillies' listed/minor pattern 5f race.

didn't have the chance the betting suggested, vying for second favouritism up in grade, and it was a respectable effort; held up after a slowish start, headway 2f out, chased leaders approaching final 1f, effort flattened out; she should be able to make a bigger impact in fillies' listed events.

Often a strong race by listed standards, won by Group 1 winners such as Prohibit and Sole Power in recent years, and Mecca's Angel has surpassed even the performances of that pair to take it impressively this time around, showing very smart form, and there's a very solid look to it with well-established sprinters like Reckless Abandon and Steps filling the places; there was a lot of competition for the lead, Swan Song blazing the trail, but they didn't go so fast that the pace collapsed.

MECCA'S ANGEL (IRE) was a big improver in the early part of the season, creating a big impression at both Thirsk and Hamilton, and she resumed her progress in emphatic fashion after 4 months off, gaining her first listed win, bigger prizes to come on this evidence; always prominent, tanked along, quickened to lead over 1f out, soon drew clear, impressive; the 5f Group 3 at Newbury a week on Saturday is likely to be where she goes next (though she wouldn't be out of place in the Abbaye) and and she promises to follow up if in this form.
