showed much improved form to record a convincing success, turning round Railway Stakes form with Laws Of Indices, for all that that one wasn't seen to best effect on the day, impressing with the way he went through the race and quickly settling things once hitting the front; chased leaders, travelled fluently, led inside final 1f, soon clear; the Middle Park was mooted as an objective in the immediate aftermath of this race, while a seventh furlong should be within his compass if connections decide to go that route, the National Stakes back here next month an obvious target in that regard.

wasn't disgraced, just not quite in the same form as on his last 2 starts, perhaps a fourth run in the space of 8 weeks or so taking its toll, promoted to second after being carried left by the runner-up in the closing stages; mid-field, every chance over 1f out, carried left inside final 1f, kept on.

ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, just no match for the winner on the day, subsequenty disqualified from second and placed third, adjudged by the stewards to have cost The Lir Jet second place when she wandered off a true line in the closing stages, for all that there was minimal interference between the pair; raced off the pace, headway over 2f out, led over 1f out, edged left and headed inside final 1f, no extra.

wasn't seen to best effect, immediately on the back foot with a tardy start, doing good late work but somewhat of a stretch to say he'd have troubled the winner in any case, though would certainly have got a bit closer; slowly into stride, in rear, ridden over 2f out, stayed on inside final 1f, nearest at the finish.
