upped in trip, ran better than last time without carrying any sort of win threat, possibly significant that his standout effort came on his sole try on an all-weather surface; missed the break, waited with, kept on, never a threat.

An up-to-scratch renewal of this Group 3 and it went the way of a very progressive colt, Constantinople taking a while to knuckle down when asked for his effort but finishing with a rattle to get on top near the line.

CONSTANTINOPLE (IRE) still a work in progress 5 runs into his career, took the step up in grade in his stride to confirm the promise shown on reappearance, highly unlikely that this will prove his ceiling, either, particularly with longer trips still to explore; held up, ridden over 2f out, stayed on strongly to lead final 50 yds; one to keep on right side.

BUCKHURST (IRE) improved further less than 2 weeks on from the Derrinstown, briefly looking the likeliest winner but unable to repel the winner's late surge; chased leaders, quickened to lead 2f out, collared final 50 yds.

U S S MICHIGAN (USA) upped in trip, got back on track under a change of tactics, without suggesting there is a great deal more to come; made running, headed over 2f out, no extra.

ANTILLES (USA) upped in trip, ran better than last time without carrying any sort of win threat, possibly significant that his standout effort came on his sole try on an all-weather surface; missed the break, waited with, kept on, never a threat.

WEE JIM (IRE) ran creditably on first outing since leaving Jason Ward after 9 months off; close up, not settle fully, lost place before home turn, carried head awkwardly, no further impression.
