The first major clash of 3-y-o fillies against their elders at 1¼m and it was one of the pair of older fillies that came out on top; the Ballydoyle team seemed to get the tactics wrong with the gallop on the steady side, not suiting the Oaks winner dropping down in trip, though the winner was so convincing that she would surely have won however this was run, her performance on a par with recent winners of the race.

URBAN FOX is better than ever this year since joining William Haggas and, turned out fairly quickly after her staying-on effort in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes, produced another career best to win at the highest level on her first attempt at 1¼m; she raced wide in mid-division, led on the bridle 3f out, quickened away over 2f out, was soon in command and kept on well; for all she was suited by the emphasis on speed over this trip, far more so than Forever Together, she made her ground wide around the bend into a quickening pace and still sustained her effort really well, this trip seemingly the making of her, and races like the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood are likely to be firmly on her radar now.

FOREVER TOGETHER (IRE) wasn't seen to anything like as good effect as in the Oaks when relishing the stamina test that a mile and a half on soft ground at Epsom provided, having no answer to the turn of foot of one stepping up from a mile; having chased the leader she was having to be niggled along before they reached the 4f marker, was upsides over 3f out until left behind by the winner over 2f out, kept on and pulled clear of remainder; she remains capable of better, particularly back over 1½m, and she remains the one to beat in the Irish Oaks later in the month.

ATHENA (IRE) is being kept busy and found some improvement back down in trip ridden more patiently; dropped out, progress 2f out, ran on, left with a lot to do.

BYE BYE BABY (IRE) hasn't matched her Blue Wind performance in either subsequent outing, making the running here but not going fast enough to detract from her chance, beaten on merit; soon led, headed 3f out, one paced.

HARVESTFORTHEWORLD (IRE) had been steadily progressing but found this too stiff a task; held up, effort 3f out, made no impression; she may well get back on the up returned to calmer waters.

TURRET ROCKS (IRE) wasn't in the same form as last time; mid-division, starting to struggle when bumped over 3f out, soon beaten.
