finally made the breakthrough at this level, but was seen to maximum effect under an enterprising ride, and it's most unlikely that he's suddenly found the chunk of improvement this bare form would imply; the only one to race close to the pacemaker, well clear of the rest, he kicked for home turning in and was never threatened thereafter; he may struggle to confirm this form with some of the beaten horses if they meet again in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot.

met with defeat for the first time since last year's Arc, but didn't really get a chance to show what he can do, left too far out of his ground, still having around 8 lengths to make up when asked for his effort 3f out, keeping on but unable to make any real inroads in the straight; mid-field, pushed along 3f out, kept on, never landed a blow; still the one to beat in this division and will reportedly remain in training next year, with a defence of his Ascot Gold Cup crown likely to be his primary objective.

back up in trip, ran to similar level as on reappearance and may yet have a bigger performance in him, not ideally placed the way things developed and only denied second late on; mid-field, headway inside early in straight, kept on; worth a try at 2m.

best not judged too harshly on this run, left with too much to do but sticking to his task in the manner of one who will prove suited by 2m; mid-field, pushed along approaching straight, stuck to task, never landed a blow.

back down in trip, has never run more than 3 times in a year prior to this and may have found this coming too soon after York, faring little better than she had in this race last year; chased leaders, pushed along in remore third over 3f out, tiring when hampered 1f out.

better judged on previous form, set too much to do; held up, typically took strong hold, headway approaching home turn, no further impression; still has plenty to offer at this level and type to bounce back quickly.

proved a real handful in the preliminaries, unseating Atzeni on the way to the post and essentially boiling over, so can be forgiven this below-par effort; chased leaders, pulled hard, ridden entering straight, held when hampered 1f out, one paced.

What looked a really strong renewal of the final classic of the year in Ireland proved to be a rather unsatisfactory affair, Brown Panther taking over from the pacemaker turning for home having raced well clear of the remainder, the result never in doubt thereafter as the rest fought it out for minor honours; the winner was providing connections with a first ever winner at this level.

BROWN PANTHER finally made the breakthrough at this level, but was seen to maximum effect under an enterprising ride, and it's most unlikely that he's suddenly found the chunk of improvement this bare form would imply; the only one to race close to the pacemaker, well clear of the rest, he kicked for home turning in and was never threatened thereafter; he may struggle to confirm this form with some of the beaten horses if they meet again in the Long Distance Cup at Ascot.
