A Grade 3 novice that was far from a true test at the trip, but it still managed to unearth a potential star in Hiddenvalley Lake, who looked a level above his rivals in the closing stages.

HIDDENVALLEY LAKE (IRE) whose form last time is working out well, took the step up to graded company in his stride, showing further improvement and drawing further clear of his rivals at the line, that he would have preferred more emphasis on stamina boding well for the future; in touch, pecked sixth, headway when not fluent 3 out, jumped on next, in command last, forged clear; he looks a smart staying prospect and will be well worth his place in better company

COOL SURVIVOR (IRE) lost his unbeaten record over hurdles but ran at least as well in defeat as when winning the time before, albeit having enjoyed the run of the race; soon led, mistake seventh, ridden 3 out, headed approaching next, kept on.

MONBEG PARK (IRE) ran to a similar level as previously on his first try in graded company, though whether he's cut out for a true test at this trip remains to be seen; close up, not fluent fifth, led briefly approaching 2 out, one paced, suited by the way the race developed.

LETSBECLEARABOUTIT (IRE) failed to come on as expected from last month's return, though was by no means disgraced and retains the potential for better granted a truer test; led briefly early, remained prominent, outpaced approaching 3 out, plugged on.

SENECIA (IRE) got back on track to some extent, though would have almost certainly been seen to better effect in a race that put more emphasis on stamina; waited with, not fluent eighth, ridden before 3 out, merely closed up late.

EASY FELLA (IRE) was out of depth; held up, novicey mistakes, reminders after sixth, struggling badly end of back straight, tailed off.
