completed the hat-trick, dictating matters but probably still value extra, and he seems sure to give it another good go next time; soon led, jumped soundly in main, travelled strongly, quickened after 4 out, clear between last 2, reduced advantage run-in, driven out.

showed much more than previously in this sphere, the breathing operation he'd undergone during a 12-week break seeming to have had a positive effect, though he was also well suited by the step up in trip, a proper test at it likely to suit better still; soon steadied, close up thirteenth, outpaced after 4 out, kept on well from 2 out.

went with more purpose in first-time cheekpieces but ultimately ran to just a similar level as at Ludlow; close up, slow eleventh, upsides 5 out and 4 out, left behind by winner from 2 out.

failed to improve, the way things developed rather negating the step up in trip; in touch, blundered eighth, every chance entering straight, outpaced from 5 out, kept on again from 2 out.

This turned into a bit of a sprint with the favourite dictating and coming clear from the second last, his true superiority not reflected in the winning margin, though the runner-up shaped well, too.

MONBEG GENIUS (IRE) completed the hat-trick, dictating matters but probably still value extra, and he seems sure to give it another good go next time; soon led, jumped soundly in main, travelled strongly, quickened after 4 out, clear between last 2, reduced advantage run-in, driven out.

REE OKKA went with more purpose in first-time cheekpieces but ultimately ran to just a similar level as at Ludlow; close up, slow eleventh, upsides 5 out and 4 out, left behind by winner from 2 out.

SURREY QUEST (IRE) failed to improve, the way things developed rather negating the step up in trip; in touch, blundered eighth, every chance entering straight, outpaced from 5 out, kept on again from 2 out.
