promises to develop into a better chaser than hurdler after getting off the mark over fences at the first time of asking, his jumping really assured; in touch, jumped soundly, shaken up before 3 out, stayed on to lead last, asserted run-in; he should improve as he's set stiffer tasks.

is the type to make at least as good a chaser as hurdler and made a promising enough start over fences after 8 months off; held up, jumped fine, took closer order after thirteenth, every chance from 5 out, shaken up after next, edged ahead 2 out, headed last, left behind by winner run-in; entitled to do better as a chaser, especially as his stamina is tested more fully.

was probably just marking time over hurdles given his physique and made a promising start over fences after 9 months off, bettering his hurdling form at the first time of asking and sure to be winning races in this sphere before long; chased leader, not fluent ninth (jumped soundly in main), jumped on 5 out, headed 2 out, kept on.

on the face of it made an underwhelming start over fences after 8 months off (had undergone breathing operation since last seen), readily left behind when things began in earnest, but it's probable he just needs time to brush up his jumping technique, nothing wrong with his heart but generally jumping too high and in uneconomical fashion; dictated, pushed along early in straight, headed 5 out, brushed aside.

after 8 months off, was given a considerate introduction to chasing and appeals as the type to do well in staying handicaps later on this season; dropped out, mistake tenth, took closer order after thirteenth, left behind again 5 out, not given at all a hard time.

after 8 months off, faced a stiff task sent chasing but at least jumped soundly enough and is likely to improve in ordinary handicaps; patiently ridden, lost touch after thirteenth.

This is usually an informative maiden chase and so it proved again, most of them fairly useful at least over hurdles and promising to make even better chasers; as often tends to be the case here, the race for home started approaching 5 out, the long-time leader Blackjack Kentucky brushed aside at that point.

THE WOLF (FR) promises to develop into a better chaser than hurdler after getting off the mark over fences at the first time of asking, his jumping really assured; in touch, jumped soundly, shaken up before 3 out, stayed on to lead last, asserted run-in; he should improve as he's set stiffer tasks.
