completed the hat-trick after 5 months off and, like so many from this yard, looks to have returned from a breathing operation an improved model; prominent main group, closing when hit 3 out, produced to lead approaching last, not fluent there, kept on well; he's got the size to make an even better chaser.

Some bubbles were inevitably burst here in a renewal that rather fell apart, but the first 2 - who made their hurdling debuts back in 2016 - posted useful performances in pulling clear; the runner-up set a stop-start pace, the field grouping up again briefly towards the end of the back straight.

SECRET INVESTOR completed the hat-trick after 5 months off and, like so many from this yard, looks to have returned from a breathing operation an improved model; prominent main group, closing when hit 3 out, produced to lead approaching last, not fluent there, kept on well; he's got the size to make an even better chaser.

DOUBLE TREASURE improved again, close to his peak chasing form in pulling clear of the rest, but he had the run of the race; forced pace, drew clear after fourth, reduced advantage when not fluent seventh, pressed on again home turn, jumped left straight, collared approaching last, kept on.

GOSHEVEN (IRE) wasn't disgraced after 6 months off but was made to look slow and his future lies at long distances; held up, effort when not fluent 4 out, untidy 2 out, one paced, made no impression.

MINELLA WARRIOR (IRE) in first-time tongue strap, had winning run ended; prominent main group, pushed along home turn, outpaced 4 out, not fluent 3 out, merely plugged on.

PUSH THE TEMPO (IRE) lost his unbeaten record in tame style; held up, hampered fourth, effort after 4 out, beaten when mistake last.

EQUUS MILLAR (IRE) back up in trip, disappointed after a couple of impressive wins in handicaps; held up, took strong hold, shaken up early in straight, made no impression.

DORKING BOY was set a stiff task on his hurdling debut and might also have needed the run after 6 months off; held up, bumped first, some headway seventh, left behind 4 out; should do better.

COOLANLY (IRE) failed to complete after 6 months off; chased leader, fell fourth.
