signed off a light yet top-notch hurdles career with his only flop, but he was strong in the betting (having reportedly had a breathing operation during his 12-month absence) and went a long way to setting the record straight, still only a 7-y-o and doing enough to suggest the fire that saw him land the 2014 World Hurdle still burns brightly, clearly one of the best seen in the division so far for all his jumping was closer to careful than bold, not necessarily a bad thing over such stiff fences at this early stage; settled in touch, he began to make his move when not fluent 3 out, soon came back on the bridle and, having been produced to lead last, didn't need to be asked much of a question to assert, ultimately impressive; he should make considerable progress assuming he stands racing, and sure to win more good races over fences.

progressed as expected, doing all he could against one from the top drawer, his high head carriage as yet no barrier to him improving; travelled smoothly, disputed lead until tenth, remained prominent, led again before 4 out, joined briefly end of back straight, ridden before 2 out, headed last, stuck to task but in vain with winner not all out; capable of better still, a chase win is a formality.

more exposed than the rest, ran about as well as could be expected after 6 months off, conceding 5 lb to a pair with greater potential, particularly so in the winner's case; patiently ridden, smooth headway from 3 out, ridden next, kept on, held run-in.

had something to find in such a high-quality novice but still had chance to underline he's taken well to fences; prominent and jumped well, went on tenth, headed approaching 4 out, every chance end of back straight, one paced from 2 out; a banker for a maiden or novice chase on form as it stands, but remains with longer-term potential as well.

unbeaten in just 2 runs over hurdles, produced a promising first effort in this sphere against more seasoned rivals; in touch, travelled smoothly, mistakes ninth, eleventh, pushed along approaching straight, one paced; likely to benefit from this, he's open to improvement.

went the wrong way from his unfortunate chasing debut spill, turned out just 9 days on and failing to see things out; disputed lead until ninth, remained prominent until 4 out, ridden after, faltered straight; may yet prove the good chasing prospect he looked granted more time.

A race with a rich tradition, and there could be no more representative a winner than More of That, top-class over hurdles and ultimately proving far too good for the host of promising novices in opposition, his performance - and the race as a whole - worthy of a positive rating.

MORE OF THAT (IRE) signed off a light yet top-notch hurdles career with his only flop, but he was strong in the betting (having reportedly had a breathing operation during his 12-month absence) and went a long way to setting the record straight, still only a 7-y-o and doing enough to suggest the fire that saw him land the 2014 World Hurdle still burns brightly, clearly one of the best seen in the division so far for all his jumping was closer to careful than bold, not necessarily a bad thing over such stiff fences at this early stage; settled in touch, he began to make his move when not fluent 3 out, soon came back on the bridle and, having been produced to lead last, didn't need to be asked much of a question to assert, ultimately impressive; he should make considerable progress assuming he stands racing, and sure to win more good races over fences.

AS DE MEE (FR) progressed as expected, doing all he could against one from the top drawer, his high head carriage as yet no barrier to him improving; travelled smoothly, disputed lead until tenth, remained prominent, led again before 4 out, joined briefly end of back straight, ridden before 2 out, headed last, stuck to task but in vain with winner not all out; capable of better still, a chase win is a formality.
