didn't need to improve to complete the 4-timer and confirm form with the runner-up from last time, though did impress with how he was able to run down that rival late on, with a sizeable gap back to the third; dwelt, waited with, driven over 2f out, progress over 1f out, stayed on to lead line; remains one to be interested in at 4 yrs

again ran well, this probably his best effort to date and the cheekpieces have clearly had a positive effect; led, went with zest, around 2 lengths clear when ridden home turn, edged right last ½f, headed post, pulled clear of rest.

Plenty of reasons to be positive about the front pair who pulled clear in this 3-y-o staying handicap, the winner completing a 4-timer.

BASCULE (FR) didn't need to improve to complete the 4-timer and confirm form with the runner-up from last time, though did impress with how he was able to run down that rival late on, with a sizeable gap back to the third; dwelt, waited with, driven over 2f out, progress over 1f out, stayed on to lead line; remains one to be interested in at 4 yrs

MARSHALL PLAN again ran well, this probably his best effort to date and the cheekpieces have clearly had a positive effect; led, went with zest, around 2 lengths clear when ridden home turn, edged right last ½f, headed post, pulled clear of rest.

NAPPER TANDY failed to come on for recent run, though was beaten by a pair at the top of their game at present; in touch, ridden home turn, one paced.

MOLIWOOD followed a good run with a below-par one; close up, ridden under 3f out, weakened over 1f out.

JUSTUS (IRE) making handicap debut, looked rusty on first outing since leaving A. Fabre (€80,000) after 6 months off (also gelded); in rear, ridden over 3f out, never dangerous.
