without the visor this time, having first all-weather start in this country since making a winning reappearance at 3 yrs, ran a cracker after 7 months off; mid-field, headway when forced wide entering straight, carried head bit awkwardly/edged left over 1f out, produced to lead 1f out, headed final 100 yds by one who had the benefit of a ground-saving ride; fresher than most he'll meet at this time of year and should have a productive time if kept on the go this winter.

after 8 weeks off, again shaped better than the bare result, doing about all he could under the circumstances; in rear, travelled well, headway early in straight, switched entering final 1f, kept on, never nearer, left poorly placed; he seems a more reliable proposition on all-weather than turf, but on a cautionary note he was reported post race to have burst a blood vessel.

A useful handicap that went to the veteran of the field, You're Hired springing a surprise, but the runner-up might have prevailed with more luck, forced wide as the winner found room against the rail; the gallop was fair at best and the field finished in a bit of a heap, Jumaira Bay faring best of those dropped out.
