seemed to have a bit on his plate at these weights, but proved at least as good as ever and is building up a good strike-rate, this win proving he's not a one-dimensional front runner as well; steadied start, in touch, upsides 1f out, edged ahead final strides; future prospects will depend on the handicapper.

has gone well fresh, but making all-weather debut after 6 months off, was probably a bit below his best, going with plenty of zest and perhaps just needing it; led, joined 1f out, edged out close home.

in more severe headgear (first-time blinkers), proved to be a disappointment, seeming to find things happening a bit too quickly for him; close up, ridden halfway, left behind final 1f; best recent efforts have come at 7f.

A small-field minor event in which the race-fit and in-form May Sonic came out on top with neither of his rivals at their best.

MAY SONIC seemed to have a bit on his plate at these weights, but proved at least as good as ever and is building up a good strike-rate, this win proving he's not a one-dimensional front runner as well; steadied start, in touch, upsides 1f out, edged ahead final strides; future prospects will depend on the handicapper.

ALJADY (FR) has gone well fresh, but making all-weather debut after 6 months off, was probably a bit below his best, going with plenty of zest and perhaps just needing it; led, joined 1f out, edged out close home.

HIGHLAND DRESS in more severe headgear (first-time blinkers), proved to be a disappointment, seeming to find things happening a bit too quickly for him; close up, ridden halfway, left behind final 1f; best recent efforts have come at 7f.
