a rather uneasy favourite, nonetheless went one better than last time in a slightly easier race, doing so in a manner that suggests there should be a bit more to come, though he doesn't make things easy for himself and could do with settling down; steadied at the start, held up, raced freely, carried head bit awkwardly when first shaken up under 2f out but knuckled down to lead well inside final 1f, a shade readily by the line; will continue to give a good account.

who attracted support, stepped up on recent outing to run up to something like his best; pressed leader, took strong hold, kicked on 2f out, headed well inside final 1f; he's shown his form at all of the all-weather tracks but seems to go particularly well at Lingfield.

might have been easy to back but continues in good heart, headgear refitted on this occasion; mid-field, travelled better than most, threatened briefly inside final 1f, kept on.

who'd had a breathing operation since making little impact in Dubai early in the year, ran respectably back on polytrack in first-time visor, a rare slow start perhaps evidence of some rustiness after 10 months off; slowly into stride, in rear, came wide under 2f out, kept on, not unduly punished.

back on all-weather, wasn't in the same form as last time, this more in keeping with the balance of his efforts this year; in touch, effort over 2f out, carried head bit awkwardly, faded final 1f.

A useful handicap that went the way of the least-exposed runner, and probably with a bit more in hand than the bare margin suggests; the pace was sound and the action was down the middle of the track in the straight.

GHALYOON a rather uneasy favourite, nonetheless went one better than last time in a slightly easier race, doing so in a manner that suggests there should be a bit more to come, though he doesn't make things easy for himself and could do with settling down; steadied at the start, held up, raced freely, carried head bit awkwardly when first shaken up under 2f out but knuckled down to lead well inside final 1f, a shade readily by the line; will continue to give a good account.

PISTOLETTO (USA) might have been easy to back but continues in good heart, headgear refitted on this occasion; mid-field, travelled better than most, threatened briefly inside final 1f, kept on.
