without blinkers this time, shaped well on first outing since leaving Rod Millman after 8 weeks off and, already 5 lb below his last winning mark, should be winning soon for a yard that does so well with new recruits; raced wide, mid-field, travelled well, headway to lead 2f out, caught final 50 yds (probably made effort earlier than ideal); he's mostly kept to sprinting this year but this shows that 1m is no problem.

ran very well fitted with a hood on first outing for 5 months/since leaving E. J. O'Neill, showing a mark that looked on the stiff side to be perfectly fair after all, with weaker races than this an option from her mark; worst of draw, dwelt, dropped out, good headway entering final 1f, finished well.

after 15 months off, shaped better than the distance beaten suggests, the way he went for most of the way giving a clue as to why a top stable has persevered, lack of peak fitness/racing close to the pace both reasons why he faltered; close up, every chance under 2f out, weakened; he's not one to dismiss.
