making all-weather debut, improved further to come out on top after 9 months off, not looking the finished article under pressure but well on top of a race-fit and in-form rival come the line, the pair of them clear of the rest; mid-field, headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead final 1f, carried head bit awkwardly, hung left, kept going well; will remain of interest.

Useful form from the pair that pulled clear, the Godolphin improver wearing down one that has been in excellent form recently and had the run of things, not many of the others looking of immediate interest.
