back on all-weather, not only revived but proved better than ever as he opened his account for the year, the refitting of blinkers (in which he did all his winning last season) evidently having a big positive effect, as did a forceful ride that meant he never saw another rival, the race going his way in that respect, though he was by no means dawdling in front; soon led, kicked on over 2f out, in command straight, kept going well; likely to continue in form.

continues in good nick and was better than the bare result, well off the pace turning for home and making up quite a lot of ground; dropped out, travelled well, headway under pressure over 1f out, ran on, never nearer, left with too much to do; he's holding his form well and should be on the premises again next time.

lost his unbeaten record at the track but still ran creditably after 7 months off and this should set him up for another good all-weather season, acknowledging he's got a bit more improving to do to win again after such a profitable spell last time round; in touch, effort 2f out, kept on.

had no easy task with a penalty for a turf win added to his higher all-weather mark but wasn't beaten by that, just running no sort of a race, a recent busy spell maybe having taken its toll; mid-division, soon off bridle, labouring badly halfway; his profile has been positive up to now so he should bounce back.

This looked competitive on paper but proved anything but, the winner soon out in front and having things sewn up early in the straight, a few among the rest arguably caught out of their ground, though in fairness the gallop he set was sound.

SECRET MISSILE back on all-weather, not only revived but proved better than ever as he opened his account for the year, the refitting of blinkers (in which he did all his winning last season) evidently having a big positive effect, as did a forceful ride that meant he never saw another rival, the race going his way in that respect, though he was by no means dawdling in front; soon led, kicked on over 2f out, in command straight, kept going well; likely to continue in form.

UPAVON was strong in the betting back down in trip after 4 days off but wasn't seen to best effect, immediately on the back foot; hampered start, in rear, ridden over 2f out, never involved, had a hopeless task from position.

ROYAL MEZYAN (IRE) again ran below form; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, made no impression.
