made most of simple task to open account in this sphere; pressed leader, not always fluent, tanked along, blundered fourth, upsides twelfth, produced to lead straight, in control when left well clear last, heavily eased thereafter (had stacks in hand); still needs to brush up jumping, but remains open to improvement and could develop into interesting contender for valuable races later in season.

went a long way to confirming what he'd seemed to show at Wetherby and will be better off in handicaps; held up, travelled well, mistake fourteenth, still plenty to do back straight, late headway, left second last; flattered by proximity to eased-down winner, though wasn't knocked about himself and may do better still.

ran a now typical race faced with another stiff task and may yet do better in this sphere, particularly if reverted to ordinary handicap company; waited with, not settle fully, went handy eighth, lost touch early final circuit, plugged on, left third last, not unduly punished.

after 8 months off, ran to similar level sent chasing and would have finished a clear second had he completed; made running, pressed on from early final circuit, shaken up before 4 out, rallied well from 3 out, though already no match for winner and headed when fell last (fluent otherwise).

All 4 ran. Fences: 19.

Winning Owner: Mr John P. McManus

Time: 6m 38.6s

Overrounds: Industry SP 106%, Betfair SP 99%

Uncompetitive stuff, the odds-on favourite already set for a bloodless success when left clear by Askamore Darsi's final-fence fall, with the two other finishers - who were both ridden with an eye to the future - very much flattered by their proximity at the line.
