SOUND AND FURY (IRE) resumed winning ways back at the course where he'd made a successful reappearance, returning from an 8-week break with the stable in flying form; pressed leader, upsides thirteenth, went on 5 out, pushed along before next, stayed on well; he isn't the smoothest traveller but keeps finding on his good days and seems suited by a stiff track such as this.

HUDSON DE GRUGY (FR) back down in trip, returned to form, finishing to good effect having lost his prominent position; led, headed when untidy tenth, hit thirteenth, outpaced 4 out, still fifth before 2 out, rallied well flat, went second dying strides.

SAINT DAVY (FR) again ran creditably, having his chance; pressed leader, went on tenth, hit twelfth, joined next, effort 3 out, kept on; he's had some toughish tasks over fences and is surely up to winning a race or 2 in this sphere.

AYIKO after 9 weeks off, ran well on form from a mark that demanded a bit more, unsurprisingly having no trouble with the step back up in trip; held up, mistake fifth, took closer order circuit out, in touch when blundered 5 out, effort 3 out, kept on.

UPFORDEBATE (IRE) gave a good account in a better race than the ones he's been winning and may sharpen up for this first outing in 11 weeks, shaping that way to a degree; mid-division, mistake sixth, hit twelfth, effort 3 out, no extra flat.

PRESIDENT SCOTTIE (IRE) was again below form with headgear left off back chasing; dropped out, in touch after 5 out, ridden when mistake next, effort flattened out.

WESTERNINTHEPARK (IRE) was in last at the time of his departure; mid-division, off pace circuit out, mistake thirteenth, all but fell 4 out and unseated rider.
