wasted no time putting a rare blip (at 3m) behind him returned to shorter, taking his record in middle-distance Carlisle chases to 112711, a pot in excess of £15,000 not to be sniffed at for an established chaser of his ability; made most until fifth, remained prominent, pushed along 2 out, rallied to lead soon after last, driven out.

found only one too good again even with a tongue tie missing, confirming his return to better form from his reduced mark, though he needed a strong gallop ahead to get him into it after he'd been sluggish early; raced off the pace, uncomfortable with pace, took closer order 4 out, closing when awkward 2 out, stayed on flat.

shaded a place but didn't seem in top form, a rarity with him this season, probably a good job therefore he'd been able to walk over at Haydock just 4 days prior; waited with, ridden when awkward 4 out, not quicken 2 out, rallied gradually run-in.

shaped as if still in good form, the drop in trip appearing against him; jumped ponderously, chased leaders early, settled in touch, outpaced 4 out, rallied latter stages; not to be ruled out back around 3m this spring/summer.

confirmed his recent form figures hadn't done him justice, shaping best for a long way only to wilt late on, this the third time this season he's traded very short in-running and failed to get the job done; travelled as well as any, pressed leader out wide, jumped on fifth, still in front when crossing last, headed approaching final 1f and faltered out of the frame thereafter, finishing tired.

Another fittingly open market for one of the many Go North Series Finals run over the 3-day period but that isn't to say it was an especially strong handicap as it turned out; the gallop was brisk.

HELLO JUDGE wasted no time putting a rare blip (at 3m) behind him returned to shorter, taking his record in middle-distance Carlisle chases to 112711, a pot in excess of £15,000 not to be sniffed at for an established chaser of his ability; made most until fifth, remained prominent, pushed along 2 out, rallied to lead soon after last, driven out.

SEAN OG (IRE) shaped as if still in good form, the drop in trip appearing against him; jumped ponderously, chased leaders early, settled in touch, outpaced 4 out, rallied latter stages; not to be ruled out back around 3m this spring/summer.
