was impressive in following up his Market Rasen and is clearly a young staying chaser going places, the handicapper unlikely to prevent him holding excellent claims of completing the hat-trick; he jumped a tad left at times but it was otherwise very smooth sailing here, taking over again between 5 out and 4 out before cruising clear from 3 out, in control (around 10 lengths to the good) when eased late on.

should remain competitive in similar company, bumping into a well-handicapped pair here and rather conceding first run to them, too; waited with, shuffled back tenth (not fluent there), shaken up between 5 out and 4 out, kept on from 3 out and went third next.

reverted to type after 3 months off and never looked like completing the hat-trick, going badly in snatches from before halfway and merely closing up late having been labouring some way out.

An impressive performance by the upwardly-mobile winner, who had a fair bit more in hand over the well-handicapped placed horses than the bare margins might imply.

TANGANYIKA (FR) was impressive in following up his Market Rasen and is clearly a young staying chaser going places, the handicapper unlikely to prevent him holding excellent claims of completing the hat-trick; he jumped a tad left at times but it was otherwise very smooth sailing here, taking over again between 5 out and 4 out before cruising clear from 3 out, in control (around 10 lengths to the good) when eased late on.

NOT SURE (IRE) had dropped below his last winning mark and quickly stopped the slide, unlucky to bump into one; made most until 5 out, left behind by winner from 3 out, stuck to task.

FORTUNATE MAN (IRE) should remain competitive in similar company, bumping into a well-handicapped pair here and rather conceding first run to them, too; waited with, shuffled back tenth (not fluent there), shaken up between 5 out and 4 out, kept on from 3 out and went third next.

THE WOLF (FR) reverted to type after 3 months off and never looked like completing the hat-trick, going badly in snatches from before halfway and merely closing up late having been labouring some way out.

RACEVIEW ROAD (IRE) was disappointing in first-time cheekpieces, even allowing for the fact the run might have been needed after 10 weeks off, left behind from 4 out having been patiently ridden.

LIEUTENANT COMMAND (FR) had undergone another stable switch (formerly with Tim Reed) and shaped as if back in form until his stamina ran dry back up in trip, racing in touch until fading from 2 out; he may prove best at up to 2¾m.

GERYVILLE (FR) never looked like repeating last month's Wetherby win (always behind), that performance very much a standout in an otherwise uninspiring 2024/25 campaign.
