hadn't been seen to best advantage on his previous start but progressed again back faced with more of an emphasis on stamina; mid-field, ridden after 3 out, headway under pressure approaching next, stayed on to lead final 100 yds, hung right, driven out; he shapes as though he'll be suited by a slog, the 3m handicap at Chepstow on Welsh National Day likely to suit given typical underfoot conditions.

might be bred for the Flat but he's got plenty of stamina and improved further on his handicap debut, the extra distance seeming right up his street given how well he saw things out; in touch, shaken up before 2 out, led briefly final 1f, stayed on well.

who'd won this race last year, made a bold attempt to follow up, likely to have run up to his very best had he not missed out the final flight when still a couple of lengths up; held up, awkward first, went prominent third, disputed lead before sixth, went on soon after, still in front when blundered last, headed final 1f, tied up final 100 yds; he's a credit to his small stable.

had done well over 3m on his previous start, but that was on good ground and the jury is out as to whether this sort of test is what he needs, probably better judged on his Haydock effort when assessing his chance next time; tracked pace, not quicken approaching 2 out, no extra run-in.

A qualifier that's highly unlikely to have any bearing on the Final in March but it was a useful handicap in its own right and there's no reason to doubt the form after a solid gallop, the complexion changing on the run-in after Captain Zebo made a mess of the last when still in front, Flight Deck cutting down him and a couple of others late in the day.

FLIGHT DECK (IRE) hadn't been seen to best advantage on his previous start but progressed again back faced with more of an emphasis on stamina; mid-field, ridden after 3 out, headway under pressure approaching next, stayed on to lead final 100 yds, hung right, driven out; he shapes as though he'll be suited by a slog, the 3m handicap at Chepstow on Welsh National Day likely to suit given typical underfoot conditions.
