confirmed the improvement shown over C&D last time, no further step forward required for him to follow up, and he goes down as a lucky winner on this occasion, the runner-up shaping best at the weights; mid-field, headway out wide under 3f out, hung right over 1f out, edged ahead final 50 yds, all out to hold on; will need to do more if he's to complete the hat-trick.

A fairly useful handicap and a tight-knit one, explaining the blanket finish, a 3-y-o who arrived on the back of a win just holding on from the unlucky-in-running second.

BOTTOM BAY confirmed the improvement shown over C&D last time, no further step forward required for him to follow up, and he goes down as a lucky winner on this occasion, the runner-up shaping best at the weights; mid-field, headway out wide under 3f out, hung right over 1f out, edged ahead final 50 yds, all out to hold on; will need to do more if he's to complete the hat-trick.

TWIN APPEAL (IRE) was unlucky not to win; waited with, headway from 3f out, had to weave way through final 1f, forced to switch final 100 yds, kept on well, just failed; will still be around his last winning mark when next seen so one to bear in mind.

POET'S DAWN below last winning mark, turned in best effort of the season reverted to front-running tactics; led, joined final 1f, headed final 50 yds, ran on; struggles for consistency, however.

KENTUCKYCONNECTION (USA) is running consistently well; awkward leaving stalls, mid-division, denied a run briefly 2f out, headway when switched around 1f out, kept on.
