comes hot on the heels of Low Sun as yet another example of Willie Mullins not being constrained by codes, her bumper form making sense of a Flat campaign but having a full season over hurdles in between, small stepping stones at home in Ireland leading to this impressive expression of her ability, not a Group-class rating out of it but certainly looking in that league (for fillies) by basically making a one-horse race out of a 14-strong field, going prominent at the end of the back straight and leading on the bridle 3f out, soon away and gone.
mid-field, went prominent end of back straight, led on bridle 3f out, drew clear over 1f out, easily

extended her sequence of placings, at listed level the last twice, not hitting the same rating here as Chester but as good a performance in other ways, similarly positioned (in mid-field) to True Self but shuffled back at the time that one went forward, the pair at opposite ends into the straight, Mistress Quickly doing a lot of running down the outside, going second in the last ½f.

nothing in her 2 handicaps to suggest this was coming, but a break did her the world of good, only a 3-y-o and evidently still developing, though well positioned as the race went, never far away.

excellent season, though even 6 handicap wins hardly qualified her for this listed exam, fifth more than could have reasonably been expected, where she raced (on the front line) helping towards it, as this wasn't truly run.

For a listed field of this size - albeit one for fillies, from various backgrounds - a runaway winner is very much the exception rather than the rule, but True Self was all and more superior as the margin suggests, though some of the higher-rated runners were dragged down, the pace slackening appreciably mid-race, few seen to full effect.

TRUE SELF (IRE) comes hot on the heels of Low Sun as yet another example of Willie Mullins not being constrained by codes, her bumper form making sense of a Flat campaign but having a full season over hurdles in between, small stepping stones at home in Ireland leading to this impressive expression of her ability, not a Group-class rating out of it but certainly looking in that league (for fillies) by basically making a one-horse race out of a 14-strong field, going prominent at the end of the back straight and leading on the bridle 3f out, soon away and gone.

ALWAYSANDFOREVER (IRE) had the form but not the position to play a fuller part, held up more over this new trip, to her detriment with the false pace, too late by the time she worked her way through the field; she was tongue tied for the first time.

ALTRA VITA excellent season, though even 6 handicap wins hardly qualified her for this listed exam, fifth more than could have reasonably been expected, where she raced (on the front line) helping towards it, as this wasn't truly run.

MAM'SELLE (IRE) on her game more often than not this season, without much to show for it, settling better with a hood back on and chasing up the leaders over 2f out, as good as it got for her, lacking the punch for a listed race as deep as this.

HIGH LANGUAGE (IRE) always behind, clearly not herself, her record this season (just 3 runs, first 2 spaced out) revealing some fragility.
