A good-quality handicap, though not many threatened to get involved in a steadily-run affair, Snow Leopardess controlling the tempo from some way out, her jumping proving a real asset.

SNOW LEOPARDESS proved at least as good as ever after 7 months off, leading for much of the race and producing a superb display of jumping in the main, already in control when fiddling the last; pressed leader, led ninth, headed briefly eleventh, drew clear between last 2, closed down only late on; she's yet to tackle the 'National' fences at Aintree, though, interestingly, does hold an entry for next month's Becher Chase.

WINDSOR AVENUE (IRE) who has gone well fresh, was without the headgear/tongue strap worn last time yet proved at least as good as ever back up in trip after 8 months off; handy, hampered 3 out, ridden home turn, went second 2 out, kept on, no match for winner.

LEGENDS GOLD (IRE) shaped as if as good as ever after 7 months off; close up, ridden after 3 out, one paced.

BELAMI DES PICTONS (FR) showed plenty of ability remains after 21 months off, briefly threatening to achieve even more; mid-division, went handy early final circuit, left second 3 out, lost 2 places before next, rallied late on.

BLAKLION ran respectably after 7 months off, not least with another crack at the Becher Chase in mind; held up, jumped left second, some headway after 3 out, never on terms.

CAPTAIN TOMMY (IRE) back up in trip, again ran below form; never better than mid-field.

CANELO (IRE) easy to back after 7 months off, shaped better than the bare result, just starting to work his way into contention when forced to take evasive action as a result of Eclair Surf's fall, likely to be close to the mark from which he won the Rowland Meyrick last December (beating both Snow Leopardess and Windsor Avenue) after this; held up, untidy fifth, keeping on when hampered 3 out, held when not fluent next.

BEWARE THE BEAR (IRE) ran a typical race on his first outing since leaving Nicky Henderson after 7 months off; mid-field, went in snatches, never dangerous.

BOBO MAC (IRE) looked rusty after 9 months off; untidy first, awkward eleventh, always behind.

LATE ROMANTIC (IRE) offered little after 8 months off; mid-division, jumped none too fluently, dropped away after 3 out.

ECLAIR SURF (FR) failed to complete after 8 months off; led until ninth, led again briefly eleventh, second when fell 3 out, too far out to suggest outcome.

CAPTAIN CHAOS (IRE) ran no better than on recent return; raced off the pace, driven early final circuit, already struggling when not fluent twelfth.

FALCO BLITZ (IRE) who attracted support, nonetheless might have needed the run upped in trip after 5 months off, his jockey quick to accept his fate once any semblance of a winning chance had disappeared; held up, some headway after twelfth, weakening when pulled up before 2 out.

SAM'S ADVENTURE looked backward after 7 months off, his campaign likely to be geared around top-end handicaps in which stamina is at a premium; mid-division, reminders soon after seventh, dropped away after thirteenth.
