showed further improvement as he followed up from last time, going about the task in good style, though he had the run of the race; made running, jumped fluently, went with enthusiasm, shaken up approaching last, ridden out; he'll probably need to be well placed to complete a hat-trick.

ran very well after 7 months off, having been raised a harsh-looking 12 lb for winning at Cheltenham on her final start last season, hitting a level of form that'll surely see her win graded races against her own sex; patiently ridden, travelled well, headway after 3 out, shaken up next, one paced.

A field of largely averagely-handicapped types made for an ordinary race relative to the grade and a bit more improvement - plus the advantage of dictating - saw the favourite come out on top.

DASHING OSCAR (IRE) showed further improvement as he followed up from last time, going about the task in good style, though he had the run of the race; made running, jumped fluently, went with enthusiasm, shaken up approaching last, ridden out; he'll probably need to be well placed to complete a hat-trick.

CLONDAW KAEMPFER (IRE) fitter for comeback and back in headgear, ran up to best; chased leader, ridden after 3 out, stuck to task, as though a return to 3m will do no harm.

MIDNIGHT TOUR ran very well after 7 months off, having been raised a harsh-looking 12 lb for winning at Cheltenham on her final start last season, hitting a level of form that'll surely see her win graded races against her own sex; patiently ridden, travelled well, headway after 3 out, shaken up next, one paced.

BOBO MAC (IRE) wasn't disgraced, a more encouraging effort than he'd managed on his return; held up, headway 4 out, outpaced next, plugged on, shaping as though he'll stay 3m.

MIZEN MASTER (IRE) back under a fully-fledged jockey having done his recent racing under a rider with a big claim, wasn't disgraced in first-time cheekpieces but never looked like finishing any closer; held up, outpaced 3 out, met some trouble home turn, not clear run again run-in, plugged on.

LEONCAVALLO (IRE) without the headgear this time, shaped as if better for the run after 7 months off; chased leader, every chance approaching 2 out, faded; he's edging back to a workable mark.
