had taken a couple of runs to work her way back to concert pitch and, despite no great strength behind her in the market, resumed winning ways, the first boost to what looks a fillies handicap to be very interested in at the Ebor meeting; raced wide, mid-division, chased leaders under 3f out, led over 1f out, tackled strongly final 100 yds, just held on with the head bob going her way.

ran a cracker back down markedly in trip; waited with, progress over 2f out, every chance final 100 yds, just failed with the head bob going against him; he can make amends for this before the season is out.

winner of this race in 2020 from 4 lb higher, had shown he was on the way back at York last time following a break and that remains firmly the case, shaping better than the bare result; in touch, no room/shuffled back from 3f out, had to pick way through entering final 1f, ran on; he hasn't won since that success 2 years earlier, but he'll remain high on the shortlist for something similar this autumn.

successful at this fixture on his final start last year, wasted no time looking back in good form, ultimately seeming to find the longer trip stretching him, while being right on the inside mightn't have been a help, either, the way this developed; mid-division, going well when had to wait for gap from 3f out, got gap on inner 2f out, brief headway, effort flattened out.

A highly competitive edition of this useful handicap, plenty on good marks and it should be a race that throws up winners through the final weeks of the season; luck in-running played a part with the field still tightly bunched over 2f out, last year's winner First Impression one of those unlucky not to finish closer.

YORKSHIRE LADY had taken a couple of runs to work her way back to concert pitch and, despite no great strength behind her in the market, resumed winning ways, the first boost to what looks a fillies handicap to be very interested in at the Ebor meeting; raced wide, mid-division, chased leaders under 3f out, led over 1f out, tackled strongly final 100 yds, just held on with the head bob going her way.
