looked an intriguing runner, having shown useful form for the Macaire/Lageneste stable in France, but he was well held after 6 months off, shaping as if he needed the run; patiently ridden, took keen hold, not fluent sixth, headway eleventh, blundered thirteenth, soon done with.

Not a strong race for the grade, with several disappointments and only the first 2 giving their running, the race becoming quite attritional.

PINK LEGEND without the cheekpieces she'd won in last time, proved better again after 7 months off, having the run of things and making the most of a bad mistake by the runner-up; led until seventh, mistake eleventh, led again next, mistake 3 out, shaken up straight, left in command 2 out, ridden out.

SMARTY WILD was below form, turning in a lacklustre display; held up, blundered first, mistake eighth, labouring tenth, plugged on straight.

FLEGMATIK (FR) was below form after 7 months off, seeming rusty, though his first season over fences contained its share of below-par efforts; soon steadied, blundered thirteenth, left behind soon after, mistake 2 out, plodded on.

RED RISK (FR) went backwards from his reappearance, a weak finish a worrying sign on his second start after a breathing operation; held up, headway after eleventh, ridden after thirteenth, found little.

YES INDEED (FR) looked an intriguing runner, having shown useful form for the Macaire/Lageneste stable in France, but he was well held after 6 months off, shaping as if he needed the run; patiently ridden, took keen hold, not fluent sixth, headway eleventh, blundered thirteenth, soon done with.

LUST FOR GLORY (IRE) in first-time cheekpieces, at least set off this time, though she'd have run a fair way below form had she completed; close up, led seventh, headed twelfth, shaken up 4 out, weakened entering straight, well held in fifth when unseated rider last.

PILBARA ran poorly, his return to form 2 starts back looking a one-off; close up, jumped sketchily, weakened soon after eighth, pulled up thirteenth.
