A representative field for the championship decider for 3-y-o miling fillies before they take on their elders, the winner of the Guineas and Irish Guineas Hermosa a warm order, understandably, but the winner of the French and German equivalents in the field too, as well as 2 very promising, later-maturing types, though it was the unconsidered Pouliches third Watch Me who came out on top, a deserved winner and with a performance on a par with an average winner of the race, Hermosa, beaten fair and square on the day, though not quite at her best, as so often a handy position looking an advantage; the stewards wanted to hold an enquiry into the performance of Just Wonderful, but were unable to do so on the day, in the absence of the trainer, who had already left the track.

WATCH ME (FR) had had a troubled passage in the Pouliches, better than the result, though it was still a surprise how much better she proved to be, ridden to best advantage this time, but impressing with the way she went through the race and seeing things out well; tracked pace, travelled well, quickened to lead over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, ridden out; she's not in the Falmouth, but will find similar opportunities back in France and will continue to be a leading player in this division.

HERMOSA (IRE) looked light beforehand, sweating and on her toes as well, and wasn't in quite the same form as last time, though she ran respectably, displaying a willing attitude once left toiling by the winner; close up, shaken up straight, every chance over 1f out, not quicken, kept on final 100 yds, no impression on winner; she may need a bit of a break, given her appearance beforehand, but she is likely to bounce back before long and would be well worth trying over further at some stage.

JUBILOSO ran well upped considerably in grade, effective at the longer trip, just lacking the experience of the pair that beat her, further back than them when making her effort too, under an understandably more patient ride than last time; waited with, took keen hold early, still travelling well into straight, shaken up 2f out, not quicken, kept on final 1f; she's open to further improvement, a good race sure to come her way at some point, the physique to go on progressing for the rest of the year and beyond.

TWIST 'N' SHAKE ran well upped in grade, coming from a similar position to the third, though not travelling quite so well into the straight; waited with, effort over 2f out, kept on final 1f, made no impression; likely to stay 1¼m; may do better still.

CASTLE LADY (IRE) lost her unbeaten record, running respectably, but unable to get in a blow at a filly she'd beaten in the Pouliches, not seen to the same advantage as she had been there, trying to come from further back than ideal; held up, travelled well, effort 2f out, not quicken, kept on final 1f, never on terms; may yet do better.

HAPPEN (USA) ran just respectably over this 1f longer trip, though will be suited by it another day, having little chance from her position the way the race developed; slowly into stride, in rear, ridden early in straight, not quicken, kept on final 100 yds; she's always likely to be a bit of a hostage to fortune, ridden as she is, but she remains capable of better under the right circumstances.

PRETTY POLLYANNA went backwards from her reappearance, possibly finding her stamina stretched on less firm ground than at the Curragh; led, shaken up straight, headed over 1f out, weakened; she is in the July Cup as well as the Falmouth and it may be connections will be tempted to try her over sprint distances again before long, hard to see her getting back to the best of her 2-y-o form over this trip.

JUST WONDERFUL (USA) can have a line put through this run, too far back and given nothing like a hard race, this a route to getting her to build belatedly on the successes of her 2-y-o career; held up, travelled well, ridden briefly 1f out, appeared slightly short of room soon after, eased final 50 yds, had a hopeless task from position.

MAIN EDITION (IRE) faced a stiffer task, but just wasn't in anything like the same form as last time; chased leaders, weakened 2f out.
