after 4 months off, looked about as good as ever in running out a comprehensive winner, the second time this season he's been successful back from a break; led main group, jumped/travelled well, close up thirteenth, went on 5 out, effort 2 out, driven clear; on the downside, his mark will suffer and open handicaps will take more winning.

Winning Owner: Mr & Mrs R. Cornock

Time: 5m 58.6s Closing Sectional: (3.80f): 56.60s (101.1%)

No unknown quantities in this handicap and there were far more bad runs than good ones in a race that soon saw the field stretched right out behind tearaway pace-setters Creevytennant and Pete The Feat, though it still seems fair to credit the winner with an effort right up there with his very best.

FORGOTTEN GOLD (IRE) after 4 months off, looked about as good as ever in running out a comprehensive winner, the second time this season he's been successful back from a break; led main group, jumped/travelled well, close up thirteenth, went on 5 out, effort 2 out, driven clear; on the downside, his mark will suffer and open handicaps will take more winning.

SO FINE (IRE) produced a laboured effort; held up, soon off bridle, headway from twelfth, chased leaders fifteenth, weakened home turn.

COURT BY SURPRISE (IRE) ran poorly after 10 weeks off; mid-field, ridden 5 out, made no impression.

SI C'ETAIT VRAI (FR) fared no better in refitted tongue strap/first-time cheekpieces; in rear, blundered first, behind when mistake 4 out, made no impression.
